The string is a 1999 documentary film directed by Nanette Burstein and Brett American Morgen. The dreams and struggles of three aspiring boxers and the coach who works with them form the basis of the strings. A female boxer, sees fighting as her best chance to escape poverty until it stopped during a raid at the drug house of his uncle.
